Description
Deep red rose hips shine in the sun, backed by beige and brown and a strip of blue sky. I photographed these in Mashpee, Massachussetts on Cape Cod at South Cape Beach.
Here, one can enjoy the dunes, salt marsh, scrub oak/pitch pine woodland, and reflective kettle ponds. The gorgeous white sand beach is over one mile long. Boardwalks winding though the area allow for enjoyment of the dunes while also protecting the fragile environment, as the sides are roped to prevent straying. South Cape Beach is situated between Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound and is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Photography by Brooke T Ryan.
